Westjet Self-Serve Check-in Project, T3 Lester B. Pearson International Airport
- Project Value: $1.1 Million
- Project Duration: 5 months
Architects: SMV Architects
The project was executed to support a new flow through passenger concept for WestJet passenger check in operations at Terminal 3, within a critical schedule window and very tight construction zone.
The scope of work included the installation of new baggage sortation technology for the GTAA – a Continual Vertical Conveyor (CVC) and custom designed passenger self induction points, delivered under a design/build contract by assigned baggage vendor.
This work took place within the operational core of WestJet’s passenger check-in zone. The baggage conveyors connecting to the existing transport lines necessitate extension work and coordination with CBSA immigration facility on the arrivals level below.
